Dr Francis Ngui’s experience in psychiatry covers a broad range of mental health conditions that occur in youths, adults and the elderly.  He has worked extensively in various public psychiatric services at Woodbridge Hospital, the Institute of Health Child Psychiatric Clinic, Tan Tock Seng Hospital, the Institute of Mental Health, Changi General Hospital, Singapore General Hospital and Alexandra Hospital.  He completed his Ministry of Health fellowship in General Hospital Psychiatry and Geriatric Psychiatry as a Senior Registrar at St Vincent’s Hospital and the Inner & Eastern Healthcare Network in Melbourne, Australia.  In Forensic Psychiatry, he has served as a Court Expert Witness in Singapore and Australia.

His previous appointments include being Medical Director of Adam Road Hospital, Chairman of the Sembawang Family Service Centre, President of the Singapore Psychiatric Association, Vice-President of the Singapore Association for Mental Health, Assistant Editor for the International Psychogeriatric Association Bulletin and member of the International Advisory Board, World Psychiatric Association Regional and Intersection Congress in 2005.  He has been involved with teaching at the National University of Singapore’s Graduate School of Medical Studies as a lecturer and organizing committee member of the Graduate Diploma in Geriatric Medicine.  At the Ministry of Health, he was a member of the workgroup committee for the Clinical Practice Guidelines for Schizophrenia and for Dementia.

Currently the Medical Director and Senior Consultant Psychiatrist at Paul W Ngui Psychiatric Clinic since 2005, he continues to be a Visiting Consultant Psychogeriatrician to several nursing homes in Singapore.
